Reset Default Directory
This is a selection on the File menu which will reset the MSC default path if it has been changed while loading a file from another directory. By default MSC will open the last used directory when File Open is selected. This is normal Windows behavior and if you want to routinely locate your data files somewhere else on your system rather than the default location, then changing to a new folder in File Open will cause the program to always look in that directory for your files in the future.
However, if you prefer to use the MSC default directory, then if you change to another directory to load a file you will need to restore the default directory for future file access. You can simply navigate through your system to relocate that directory, but tracking back can be time consuming. Also, the path includes the AppData folder which is hidden by default by Windows so it will only be visible if you have turned on the Windows option to show hidden files and directories (in Windows this is Folder Options | View | Show hidden files, folders and drives.) Therefore, the quickest approach is usually just to click on Reset Default Directory on the File menu to reset the path, then click File Open as usual.
In Windows 10 the default path is normally;
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\QuadtechAssociates\MSCPro5
