Elements
Elements is an option under the Main Edit menu. It can also be accessed from the Edit menu in the Elemental Formula utility. Selecting Elements will display a window in the general format of the Periodic Table. All of the elements listed in this table are available for use in Mass Spec Calculator.
To examine the mass and abundance settings for any listed element, simply click on it. A new window will open with all values listed. These values can be edited if desired. If any changes are made, a Cancel button will become available. Click on Cancel to close the editor window and discard any changes. Clicking on OK will close the window and any changes will be retained.
Click on Close on the Elements window to return to the main program. If any changes have been made, a Save button will be available. To make the changes permanent, click on Save, and then click Close. If you simply close the window without first clicking on Save, the changes made will be retained in memory as long as the program is loaded, but they will be discarded when MSC is closed and will revert to the original values the next time MSC is started.
