Summary
Summary is an item on the Spectrum menu that will only appear after a comparison has been made following an Autofragmentation (see Compare). If you select this item, MSC will report:
The number of 'matched' masses found
The total number of unmatched masses in the spectrum
The match percentage
This information is also provided in a printed summary if you carry out a comparison, and then select Print. This summary provides a general extent of agreement between the ions present in the spectrum and the presence of corresponding masses that could be formed from simple bond breaks in the target molecule ( + the number of H transfers allowed). Note that this is only a crude index for information purposes and cannot confirm that the corresponding masses have the same compositions, nor should it be regarded as a meaningful index of the relative likelihood of identification.
